Depending on your personal health conditions, you may need to isolate longer. The CDC advises that everyone who has or thinks they have COVID-19 (whether vaccinated or not) should stay home and isolate from other people for at least 5 full days (day 0 is the first day of symptoms or the day of the positive test if you don’t have symptoms). You’ll get information about isolation, possible treatment options, and when to contact your doctor. If you get a positive result from a COVID-19 self-test, complete an e-visit to report it to your care team. You do not need to take a PCR test to confirm a positive self-test unless your healthcare provider tells you to. You should inform close contacts and follow CDC’s guidance for isolation and local public health recommendations before returning to your normal activities.
